And Alterations
Last Resort
August 29th - October 3rd, 2015
Opening Saturday, August 29th, 2 - 5 p.m.

This show involves lettuce. Thin, whispers of green leaves interlacing and folding together to become layered heads of history. This show is concerned with their history. The leaves start as seeds, or images or events or places in time, and are then watered, germinated, distorted, reproduced, harvested, and lightly tossed in oil and public opinion. Salted to taste.

A life lived, consumed and then forgotten.

In their shells, these seeds hold the history of a world we have never seen; but over time, with  their modifications, corruptions and crossbreeding we lose their beginning. They are heirlooms, passing on the gifts of a time, which we will never know.

This show is concerned with forgetting. An unplanted seed, a sense lost, a place consumed by the blankness of ambivalence.

We are revealed.
